The Fiction Story I wrote
Today, I post the fiction story which I wrote in the class. It's a bit long, but if you're interested, please read it!
The Christmas Present
This is a story of Kathy, a girl whose
father died when she was a 13-year-old.
She enjoyed spending Christmas every year
with her mother and her grandparents.
"Will Santa Claus come again this
year? " Kathy had asked her mother every year since she was little.
"Of course!” her mother always replied
to Kathy kindly, “He will deliver a nice present for you this year as
well."
On Christmas day when she turned 12 years
old, she no longer believed in Santa Claus. After enjoying a Christmas party
with her family, she told her mother, "I really believed in Santa when I
was a little. I thought Santa was my dad, and he was coming in disguise as
Santa."
"Oh, maybe, it is true! Maybe this
year he will come to you," her mother replied.
"Oh” her mother pretended to be surprised
and replied. “Maybe he has been preparing a nice present for two years for you"
Kathy laughed at her mother, because not
only she but also all her friends stopped believing in Santa Claus, and she
thought it was funny to say that Santa existed. She enjoyed the party, and went
to bed before midnight. It was her custom to sleep early on Christmas Eve.
That night, Kathy had a dream. Her father,
who she had only seen in pictures, wore Santa’s clothes, and waved his left hand
to her with a smile. There was a gift that Kathy had received from Santa behind
him, and he was holding a letter in his right hand.
When she woke up, there was a letter at her bedside. At the beginning of the letter was written, “Dear Kathy”. She had never seen it before.
“Dear Kathy,
Maybe,
this is the first, and the last time to talk to you. I want you to read it
without being surprised. I am your father, and this letter is your 12th
birthday letter. What foods do you like? What animals do you like? When do you
laugh, who is your boyfriend, and what places do you wanna go to for me? I could
not live until the time you are born, so I cannot know your birthday, your
features, your voice, or your smile. I am only able to hope that you will grow
up in good health, but I am sure that you become cheerful daughter.
Could you listen to just one of
my requests;, ‘please stay healthy and get along with your family?’
I am watching you from heaven.
Please continue to be happy.
Love, your
Dad”
This was
the letter from Kathy’s dad! Of course, Kathy understood this letter was put on
by her mother, but she certainly felt this was a gift from her father, not
her
mother.
“Thanks
Santa, my kind dad.” Kathy said that, and continued to read the letter
carefully forever.
It's interesting.
